Frances Marie (Rowland) Mentzer, 92, of Hagerstown, died on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Williamsport Nursing Home.
Born March 22, 1920, in Downsville, she was the daughter of the late Norman Milton and Charlotte Irene (Shafer) Rowland.
She was a member of St. James Brethren Church in St. James, Md.
Frances graduated from nursing school in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1957. She worked as a nurse at the former Avalon Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Irvin Mentzer, in 1969; a sister, Ruth Deibert; and a brother, Harvey Rowland.
Frances is survived by a sister, Margaret P. Rowland, and her uncle, Rodger Sheffer, both of Hagerstown.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Rest Haven Cemetery.
