George “Pete” Limburg of West Chester, Pa., died Sept. 24, 2012 at age 95.
Born Sept. 23, 1917, he was the son of Percy and Minnie Belle Limburg.
Graduating in 1935 from Hagerstown High School, he worked at Pangborn Corporation for 43 years until retirement. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, serving as deacon, trustee, and on the senior choir.
A passionate hunter, Pete was a member of Western Maryland Sportsman’s Club and a former president of A.C. Hunt Club. He was a softball enthusiast and an accomplished horseshoe player.
He is survived by his wife, Violet, of 74 years, as well as a son, Ronald “Pete” Limburg of Warrenton, Va.; and daughters, Donna Faunce of West Chester and Brenda Passiales of Wheaton, Ill.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Izetta Hoch and Viola Borne.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, 1237 Paoli Pike, West Chester, PA 19380. Luncheon will follow. Family will receive guests at noon.
