Glenna V. May went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, Earl May, and her precious granddaughter, Missy (Schleigh) Baxter, on Nov. 1, 2012. She passed away peacefully at the home of her loving daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Tom Schleigh, with whom she resided for the past nine years. She will be greatly missed.

Glenna was born Jan. 7, 1926, to James T. Haney Sr. and Florence E. Haney. She married her husband, Earl, on Nov. 30, 1945. They lived in their much-loved home on the Sharpsburg Pike for 54 years until Earl was killed in an automobile accident. She and Earl volunteered at Western Maryland Hospital for many years. She was a member of Manor Church of the Brethren and Williamsport Red Men Pocahontas. She loved to play cards, go dancing with Earl, read, play tabs and spend time with her family and her little dog, Molly. Glenna was a dialysis patient for almost eight years.

She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Tom Schleigh of Hagerstown; great-grandsons, Chad M. Breichner of Bel Air, Md., and Alexander T. Baxter of New York, N.Y. She is also survived by a sister, Florence E. May of Hagerstown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. May; her granddaughter, Melissa (Schleigh) Baxter; her parents, James and Florence Haney; and brothers James T. Haney Jr. and Phillip Haney (infant).

There will no viewing. Arrangements are being handled by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, Md.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Manor Church of the Brethren, 18511 Manor Church Road. The Rev. Joy Zepp will officiate.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Manor Church of the Brethren or to Hospice of Washington County.
