Harry Washington McNew, 90, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Williamsport Retirement Village.
Born Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1922, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Milton McNew and Florence (George) McNew.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Smith McNew.
He was employed by Potomac Edison, retiring after many years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 and The Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84.
He is survived by his son, Michael McNew of Washington Crossing, Pa.; granddaughter, Katharine L. McNew; grandson, S/Sgt. Patrick M. McNew; great-granddaughter, Madison McNew; and great-grandson, Trenton McNew.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey McNew.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, Md., with Chaplain Mike Simane officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
