Mrs. Helen Pauline (Anderson) Geyer, 87, a resident of Golden Living Center, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the nursing home.
Born Aug. 26, 1924, in Morgantown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late LeRoy Paul and Edna Arthelia (Austin) Anderson. She spent her early life in the Morgantown area.
Mrs. Geyer was a graduate of Victoria High School in Clarksburg, W.Va., with the class of 1942.
She and her husband, the late Mr. Glenn E. Geyer Sr., were married Nov. 30, 1942. He passed away Feb. 19, 1995.
In her early life, Mrs. Geyer was employed at Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing, Hagerstown, as an assembler. Prior to her retirement in 1984, she was employed as a seamstress at Dorbee Clothing Manufacturing, first in Hagerstown and later in Waynesboro, Pa.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hagerstown ward.
Mrs. Geyer enjoyed sewing.
She is survived by five children, Diane B. Kittell of Greencastle, Pa., Ray A. Geyer of Hagerstown, Gisele L. Smith of Fairplay, Md., Glenn E. Geyer Jr. of Myersville, Md., and Jeffrey C. Geyer of Hagerstown; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice I. McClung of Nevada; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kent A. Geyer Sr., who passed away April 29, 2006; and two sons-in-law, Shelton Smith and Terry Kittell.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Mr. Todd Gossert officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, Pa.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
