Irma Louise O'Kain Brooks, 83, of Dove Lane, Falling Waters, W.Va., died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Spencer, Ind.
Born June 20, 1929, in Nashville, Tenn., she was the only daughter of the late William Wrenyard O’Kain and Louise O’Kain Fox.
She was a member of the Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she served in various capacities, such as church clerk, deaconess and children’s Sabbath school leader.
She is survived by her two daughters, Karen T.A.B. Hansen of Nashville, Tenn., and Lutricia L.B. Whitlow of Spencer; six granddaughters; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Raymond E. Brooks; one son, Daniel R.E. Brooks Jr.; and both brothers, Charles O’Kain and Jerry O’Kain.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Rick Remmers will officiate.
Internment services will be Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Williamsport, Md.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
