James Raymond Haney, 65, passed away Jan. 15, 2013, at his home in Hagerstown, Md.
Jim was born June 25, 1947, in Hartford, Conn., the son of the late Charles and Gilberta Haney.
Jim and his family relocated to Hagerstown in 1962. Jim graduated from North Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown in 1965, and from the Washington County Hospital School of Radiological Technology in 1967.
Jim worked for Washington County Hospital as a nuclear medicine technologist, where he was employed for 36 years, retiring in 2004.
Jim married Peggy Ann Lucas in 1968 in Manchester, Conn. They were happily married for 44 years.
Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hagerstown. He was also a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211, and SAL Squad (Sons of the American Legion). Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandson, Guerin, and his two dogs, Maggie and Katey.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Becky McNabb and her significant other, Bob Stottlemyer, of Hagerstown, and Jessica Skiles and her husband, Ryan; and grandson, Guerin Skiles, of Mercersburg, Pa. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Haney of Bradenton, Fla.
A private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hope Lodge-Baltimore, American Cancer Society, 636 W. Lexington Ave., Baltimore, MD 21201.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
