John A. Palmer III, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 17, 2011, at City Hospital.
Born in 1943 in Marietta, Ohio, he was the son of the late Geri and John Palmer Jr.
Jack grew up in Marietta, attended Marietta High School, Penn State University and continued his education at Marietta College.
He worked for 23 years for Bechtel Power Co. as an estimator. He was a valuable resource for many people both inside and outside the workforce, as well as a Bechtel Employee's Club event planner for numerous years.
He loved to travel, and many of us enjoyed his tours through Canada, Maine and Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elaine Palmer; a daughter, Michelle Palmer; a son, John Palmer IV; a granddaughter, Olivia Parivash and a grandson, Johnny Palmer V; and a sister, Judy McCahon.
A Celebration of Life service will be held privately by the family.
