John Michael Footen Jr., 50, of Hagerstown, Md., went to be with his Lord on Feb. 15, 2013. John passed away at home with his family, after a long illness. John was born Dec. 29, 1962.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Pamela Footen; his parents, John Michael Footen Sr. of Tennessee and Donna Fazenbaker of Florida; his children, Michele Maloy and husband, Michael, of Pennsylvania, Dawn Crider and her fiance, Anthony, of West Virginia, Michael Crider and his wife, Flesia, of Hagerstown, Joshua Footen of Hagerstown, and Joel Footen and his wife, Kelly of Hagerstown; brothers, Joseph Footen and his wife, Bobbi, of Florida, and Charles Matlack and his wife, Demeta, of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Logan, Hailey, Alexis, Payton and Claire, whom he loved very much; brother-in-law, Donald Heck; and several nieces and nephews.
John was a journeyman plumber. He attended Clear Spring High School and graduated from North Hagerstown High School. John loved to fish, hunt and play Guts. He also loved spending time with family.
A celebration of life memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 443 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown.
