Judith (Dysert) Hawbecker, 72, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at Julia Manor Health Care Center.
Born March 5, 1940, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Donald Walter and Mary Catherine (Miller) Dysert.
Judy was a life member of the Hagerstown Garden Club, where she was president from 1999 to 2001. She also served on the board of trustees for the Hagerstown Day Nursery for more than 20 years.
Judy volunteered for the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Woodrow Harry Hawbecker, who died in September 2011.
Judy is survived by a son, David Dysert Hawbecker of Hagerstown; a daughter, Jody Dysert Hardel and son-in-law, Barton Kendall Hardel, of King of Prussia, Pa.; a grandson, Jacob Kendall Hardel; and dear friends.
A memorial service will be Monday, March 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 141 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Edward Heim officiating. Private internment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judith's name to Hagerstown Day Nursery Inc., Hagerstown, MD 21740 or St. John's Lutheran Church, 141 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
