Lewis Edward "Louie" Jones Jr., of Fairfield, Pa., passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born Nov. 2, 1929, he was the son of the late Lewis E. and Reva Pearl Whitlock Jones Sr. of Boonsboro, Md.
Louie was retired from Alban Tractor, Caterpillar with 30 years of service, and was working part-time in maintenance at Cozy Restaurant in Thurmont, Md.
Louie was also a veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Louie always prided himself in living life to its fullest and was always busy doing or fixing something, even right up until his passing.
Louie was timeless!
Louie was also a life-long member of AMVETS Post 9, Middletown, Md. and the American Legion Post 10, Boonsboro.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn M. Jones; and one daughter, Vickie D. Grinder of Fairfield. In addition, Louie is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Betty Jones, Harold and Carol Jones, Dale and Esther Jones, Blair and Martha Jones, Robert and Kay Jones, Sammy and Linda Jones, David and Charlene Jones, and Gary Jones; and one sister, Doris. Also close to Louie is his surviving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Phyllis Smith, Dennis and Judy McCumbee, George and Ann McCumbee, and Bud and Anna Marie McCumbee.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Jones.
There will be no viewing. Graveside services for family will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield will be handling the arrangements.
