Lucy F. Werdebaugh, age 82, of Hancock, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at her home.
Born Oct. 15, 1929, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William McKinley Fritzman Sr. and Anna Pearl Henry Fritzman, and the widow of Herbert Edgar Werdebaugh, who died Dec. 15, 1996.
She was employed at the former National Restaurant in Hancock for 35 years as a cook, and was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Darlene K. Mellott of Hancock; one son, Ronnie W. Werdebaugh Sr. of Warfordsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Ricky D. Mellott Jr., Ronnie W. Werdebaugh Jr. and Leslie D. Caldwell and husband, Michael; three great-grandchildren, Destiny M. Mellott, Peyton M. Caldwell and Airyanna G. Black; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dortha Widmyer and Viola Fritzman; and two brothers, Walter Fritzman and William McKinley Fritzman Jr.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. Jeff Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
