Mrs. Mary Anna (Mathers) Merrick Eichelberger, 66, of 3367 Coseytown Road in Greencastle, Pa., and formerly of Muncy, Pa., died Tuesday morning, Jan. 29, 2013, at The Shook Home in Chambersburg, Pa.
Born May 1, 1946, in Muncy, she was the daughter of the late William Laird and Eleanor (Sharrow) Mathers.
Mrs. Eichelberger was a 1964 graduate of Muncy High School.
She and her husband, CSM Warren S. "Ike" Eichelberger Sr., U.S. Army Retired, were married Oct. 16, 1990.
She was employed as a cost estimator by GE Sylvania in Williamsport, Pa., and retired as a bank teller for Patriot Federal Credit Union in Waynesboro, Pa., in 1999.
She and her husband enjoyed long trips on their Harley-Davidson motorcycles together. They traveled to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 18 times and traveled many times on trips hundreds of miles long sometimes in one day. She also enjoyed snowmobile riding. She and her husband traveled to Canada and Alaska, where they rode snowmobiles along backcountry trails. She was very passionate about riding her Harley and snowmobile and enjoyed the adventures she and her husband went on.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Marie Merrick of Frederick, Md.; three stepdaughters, June K. Martin of Fayetteville, N.C., Judy K. Chambers of Chambersburg, Pa., and Janet K. Paylor of Mercersburg, Pa.; a stepson, Warren S. Eichelberger Jr. of Greencastle; five stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and her brother, James I. Mathers and his wife, Barbara, of St. Thomas, Pa.
Local funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, with the Rev. Stacy Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Funeral services also will be Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, with the Rev. Jane O'Borski officiating. The family will receive friends a half-hour before the service at the church.
Burial will be Saturday following the church service at Muncy Cemetery.
