Mary Jane Peters, 85, of Hagerstown, passed away Sunday April 8, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born, July 24, 1926, in Clearfield, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward R. and Jeannette (Caldwell) Taylor.
She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Hagerstown. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and reading. She was a member of the Happy Face Travel Club.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Howard “Baldy” Peters Jr.; three children, Barry H. Peters and wife, Karen, of Hagerstown, Chris H. Peters of Strongsville, Ohio, and Craig H. Peters and fiancée, Kim Dodson, of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Eldridge “Bud” Taylor and Katherine; and three sisters and their husbands, Leah Cole and Earl, Jean Campbell and Les, and Margaret Blair and Len.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Mike Henning officiating.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
