Melvin “Pat” S. Williams, 92, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born June 14, 1919, in Big Pool, Md., he was the son of the late Charles A. Williams and Bertha Hall Williams.
Pat served our country in the U.S. Army. He was retired from the City of Philadelphia and Mack Trucks.
Pat enjoyed golfing, traveling and singing in a local men’s choir.
Pat was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for many years.
Pat is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace E. Williams; six brothers, Carroll Williams, Merrill Williams, S. Kermit Williams, T. Andrew Williams, Kenneth Williams and John Williams; and three sisters, Evelyn Duke, Kathryn Howard and Alice Williams.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 8, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Services will be Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. G. Edward Grove and Pastor Lloyd McKenna officiating.
Interment will immediately follow the service in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
