M. Wayne Warrenfeltz, age 70, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 at his residence in Centerburg, Ohio, after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by parents Milton O. and Mary E. (Poffenberger) Warrenfeltz.

Wayne is survived by Patricia (Snowberger) Warrenfeltz, his wife of 51 years; son, Curtis Warrenfeltz of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters, Sharon Newcomer of Ringgold, Md., Debra Warrenfeltz of Delaware, Ohio, and Julie Zubiate of Carmel, Ind.; six grandchildren and four great-grandsons.

Wayne graduated from Smithsburg High School in 1958. He worked at the Superior Dairy, the 7-UP Bottling Co. and then at the family business, Warrenfeltz Distributors. He later leased the Leitersburg Exxon, and also ran his own business, Wayne’s Auto & Truck Repair. In 1994, Wayne and Pat semi-retired to Woodlake Village in Murrells Inlet, S.C., where he enjoyed chartering fishing boats for another 14 years. In 2007, Wayne and Pat retired to Centerburg.

A memorial service led by Pastor Jerry Timbrook will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17 at Rest Haven Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Md.
