Pat Cohill, 83, of Hancock, Md., died Jan. 3, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born Feb. 22, 1929, in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Christine Fenton, and the widow of William J. Cohill, who died in 1994.
In Maryland and Michigan, she was a school teacher, a farmer and a homemaker.
She was a charter member and a member of the Board of Directors of Hancock Historical Society. She was a founding member of American Agri-Women and also Women for the Survival of Agriculture (an organization to save the family farms).
She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Van Der Bos of Hancock and Elizabeth Cohill of Denver, Colo.; two sons, John Cohill of Hancock and William Cohill of California; one sister, Anne Herdt of Virginia; two brothers, Jack Fenton of Cabin John, Md. and Gerry Fenton of Annapolis, Md.; and grandchildren, Jason Van Der Bos, Jessica Van Der Bos, John Cohill III, Austin Cohill and Nina Turner.
She was preceded in death by son, Joseph Cohill; and sister, Helene Willoughby.
A Mass of Resurrection will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 16 E. High St., Hancock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hancock, MD 21742.
Arrangements were handled by Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.
