Richard E. Davis, 68, of Clear Spring, Md., passed Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at his home.
Born June 18, 1944, in Westernport, Md., he was the son of the late George William Davis and Alice M. Bray Davis of Warfordsburg, Pa., and husband of Evalina G. Meram Davis of Clear Spring, whom he married April 5, 2005, in Winchester, Va.
He was a 1962 graduate of South Hagerstown High School, and graduated from Hagerstown Junior College with an associate of arts degree.
He attended Faith Assembly of God Church in Warfordsburg.
He retired in 2007 from Mack Trucks, where he worked as a machinist.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Lisa G. Metcalfe and husband, Joe, of Hancock, Md.; one son, Chad E. Davis and wife, Sally, of Hagerstown, Md.; two stepdaughters, Karen Meram of Saudi Arabia and Madel Meram of the Philippines; one sister, Sharon Hendershot and husband, Kenneth, and brother, William E. Davis and wife, Nita, all of Warfordsburg; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Jerusalem Christian Church, Warfordsburg. The Revs. Donald Stotler and Delmas Bard will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open Monday from 2 to 8 p.m.
