Roger "Denny" Marks, 70, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at his home, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
He was born March 11, 1942, in Hagerstown, son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Ola Fay "Sweetheart" (nee Poffenberger) Marks.
Denny graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1960 and was employed by Mack Truck for 30 years. He was an Air Force veteran, a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of God, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Elks Lodge 378, and an AMVETS life member.
Surviving are his daughters, Tamara L. Shindle and her husband, Keith R., and Christine D. Turner and her husband, Bryan K.; grandchildren, Luke R. and Hope C. Shindle, and Rachel L. Turner; a sister, Laura L. Snyder and her husband, Gregory K.; a brother, Gary W. Marks and his wife, Brenda; nephew, Maxwell C. Marks; and nieces, Kelli R. Snyder, Katie A. Snyder and her husband, Seth M. Johnson, and Keeley S. Marks.
Friends will be received at Harman, Kenworthy & Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. The Rev. A. Paul Harne and Pastor Shawn Bushman will officiate. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
