Sarah Evelyn Schlotterbeck, 88, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the Emeritus Senior Living.
Born Saturday, Jan. 24, 1925, in Hancock, Md., she was the son of the late Boyd D. Knable and the late Helen E. (Shoemaker) Knable.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School for several years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Morris Frock American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the North American Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Paul Howard Schlotterbeck; one son, Mark Paul Schlotterbeck and wife, Debbie, of Wetumpka, Ala.; brother, Gene B. Knable and wife, Pat, of Danville, Ala.; nephew, Ronald Tosten of Decatur, Ala.; three grandchildren, Christopher, Andrea and James; and one great-grandchild Luke; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Marie Tosten and Hilda Knable; and a brother, William Monroe “Monnie” Knable.
Services will be held Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown with the Rev. George Limmer, the Rev. Thomas L. Perry officiating.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
