ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — Thelma S. Schnell, 87, formerly of 1013 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, Md., has fallen peacefully asleep on Dec. 9, 2010, at Manor Care Health Services in Elizabethtown, Pa.
She was a member of the Strother family from Romney, W.Va., and the wife of Paul Schnell, deceased, of Hagerstown.
She is survived by one sister, Gladys Strother, Cumberland, Md.; one nephew, William Rannells of Ohio; a great-niece, Deborah Mitzel, and companion, Mike Hoffman; a great-great-niece, Karen Nye; and a great-great-nephew, Brent Mitzel of Lancaster, Pa.
She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Hagerstown and a volunteer for Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, and worked in Home Health Care services.
In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and had a passion for singing and listening to music. She loved to eat out, and frequented many restaurants in Hagerstown.
A memorial service will be at the convenience of the family.
