Thomas Joseph Moylan, 89, of Williamsport, Md., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at the Homewood Nursing Home, Williamsport, Md.
Born Feb. 28, 1921 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Thomas and Grace (Pennington) Moylan.
He was the husband of Hannah Hunt (Hardinge) Moylan of Williamsport, Md.
Thomas graduated from St. Agnes High School, Baltimore, and studied art at the New York Art League and the Baltimore University of Art. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and was honorably discharged at its conclusion. Later retiring from Baltimore County government, Thomas volunteered at the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Hagerstown.
Thomas was a member of the Assembly Club, Fountainhead Country Club and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, all of Hagerstown.
In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by a brother, Donald Moylan of Reading, Pa.; and a sister, Mary (Moylan) Sydnor of Baltimore, Md.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan., 15, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. James Nirappel will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
There will be no visitation.
