Vernon Peter “Pete” Kline, 93, of Boonsboro died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home, Boonsboro.
Born May 3, 1919, in Wolfsville, he was the son of the late James E. and Ada L. (Kline) Kline.
He was the husband of the late Nellie Ruth Smith Kline who preceded him in death April 18, 2001.
Pete was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army. He was employed by Thompson and Sons Awning, Boonsboro for many years, he also farmed, worked in construction and retired from Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown.
Surviving Pete are five daughters, Loretta Pryor, Sharpsburg; Connie Fields, North Carolina; Sherrie Remsberg, Boonsboro; Nancy Fries, Chambersburg, Pa., and Linda Gift, Hagerstown; three sons, Bobby Kline and Donald Kline both of Boonsboro and Michael Kline, Hagerstown; one sister, Carrie Bates, Boonsboro; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Sally Kline, Mae Smith, Laura Weaver and Louise Moser; and eight brothers, Russell, Jacob, Calvin, Fred, Clarence, Robert and Ernest Kline and an infant brother.
A full military graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wolfsville with Pastor Richard Rutherford officiating.
The family will receive friends at Ricketts Funeral Home, Myersville on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m.
