Viola F. Golden, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at her home in Hancock.
Born April 9, 1925, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late John Wilbur and Mary Magdaline Shank Fulmer and the widow of John E. Golden, who died in December 1991.
She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion Auxiliary, Hancock.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Riggleman and husband, Tim, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one son, Mark J. Golden of Artemas, Pa.; one sister, Annabel Cannon of Frederick; three grandchildren, John M. Golden and wife, Alyssa, Scott Golden and wife, Christine, and Brittany Golden; and two great-grandchildren, John R. and Waylon J. Golden.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Golden and John W. Golden; and one grandson, Matthew Golden.
A service will be Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. The Rev. Eric Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Presbyterian Cemetery, Hancock.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open from 4 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Hospice of Washington County.
