Willie Wanda “Billie” Laws, 92, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at her home.
Born Jan. 11, 1919, in Leslie, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John William and Ethel (Nelson) Edwards.
She worked as a homemaker.
“Billie” was Catholic by faith and attended St. Augustine Catholic Church in Williamsport.
She was also a ladies auxiliary member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Charles Town Lodge No. 948, and a former member of the Woman’s Club of Charles Town.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Harlan Justice, who died in 1953, and her second husband, Lester Allen Laws, who died in 1972.
Surviving her is a daughter, Wanda Pifer; a granddaughter, Wanda Mounts; and a great-grandson, Richard Mounts, all of Hagerstown; cousins, Margaret Compton and her daughter, Peggy, of Mechanicsville, Va.; Linda and Ron Cain, and Billie Jean Ward, all of Catonsville, Md., Jim Nelson and John Nelson, both of Portland, Ore.; and special friends, Blanche Dawson, Penny Bohrer and husband, Ike, all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
In addition to her parents, first husband and second husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas and Charles.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. J. Collin Poston officiating. Inurnment will be private.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
