“I was born in 1947, got a Social Security card, graduated from high school in 1964. Average grades, didn’t go to college; no money, low grades. Went to work in 1964, joined the army in 1969, fought in Vietnam. In 1973, got a steady job and worked 40 years ... Retired in 2012 with health problems. Can’t live alone, must have Social Security, which I paid in for in 45 years.”
