“In response to the caller from Blue Ridge Summit who wants to know if there are any Democrats who are true Americans, where do you start? I’ll start here. My grandfather is a Purple Heart vet, my father is a combat vet, I am a Purple Heart vet, and by the way, we are all Democrats. Does that pass your test?”
“I see where the athletic director for Maryland University, they made a big deal. He hired a coach for a Maryland football team that’s got a record of 74 and 70. That doesn’t sound very hot to me ... make Maryland be a big-time winner. So but plus he lost his last bowl game, so sounds like they ought to fire the AD to me. Get rid of him and get another one in there. I can’t even believe they didn’t let their man finish out his term.”
“This is in response to the caller from Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. I would just like to know if there are any Republicans out there that are true Americans. From Rush Limbaugh to Sean Hannity to Sarah Palin and Ronald Reagan, are any of them true Americans, really?”
“This is in response to the caller from Blue Ridge Summit wanting to know if there are any Democrats who are true Americans. Please place another call and tell us what your definition of a true American is. Be blessed.”

“I enjoy reading Mail Call. Some things are ridiculous, some things are pertinent to everyday life, and some things are just unbelievable, about how people are so uninformed — which brings me to my point. Our elected representatives are always being criticized in Mail Call, but how many of you people that criticize them actually have ever talked to them, have called there about problems, or even make suggestions to them? I would advise, try to contact your legislators. It’s not very hard to do.”
