“I’d like to comment on the school nurse situation. School nurses might not have been in every school when we were growing up, you know, back in the 1960s and ‘70s, might not have had them. Now laws have changed, and kids are coming to school on a daily basis that previously would have been home-schooled, or would have had a visiting nurse or visiting ... we have kids in schools with serious health conditions, serious health conditions, and by law, we have to meet their needs. So that’s why school nurses are so necessary.”
