“I was very happy to read in Tuesday, July 17’s paper, from Washington County lady, recently completed her first year at the senior center, and how enthusiastic she was about it. And it sounds like she has every right to be, with everything that they offer, because so many of your little senior centers have nothing, if, very little if anything at all for the seniors to do. So I think this is fantastic. Keep up the good work.”

Funny, when John McCain four years ago thought about picking him as his vice president, Mitt Romney easily and quickly handed over 23 years worth of tax returns. I guess as long as it didn’t become public, it was all right. But according to his senior aide, McCain decided Romney wasn’t the best pick because he was just too wealthy and it wouldn’t look good. A lot of things have changed.”

Instead, we don’t have them, and we have our Republican candidate putting his money in offshore accounts, and he doesn’t even have to pay taxes on it. I think it’s time we do raise taxes for those making over $1 million a year.”

“I as a taxpayer do not want any more money spent on extending roads, developing technology parks, etc., until we can properly maintain the roads that we have. The current roads in Washington County have been shortchanged, due to what politicians say is a shortage of funds. If we have a shortage of funds to maintain the roads, we don’t have the funds to extend, for instance, Yale Drive, and money for the technology park. Forget that stuff until we can take care of what we have.”

“I just received my water bill today, and everything has gone up. The fees are absolutely ridiculous. The bay fee is up to $15 now, and for recycling, it’s $39. They keep adding fees on and on. No one should pay anything in Hagerstown to the utilities.”
