“It is interesting to see the property rights folks and the tea party are all in a dither about the bike hike trail, particularly since they’ve been almost silent on the stadium. But what’s really interesting is that by advocating taking essentially public land that is front of their houses, and demanding to use it for their own personal use, it amounts to a private taking of property that the rest of us have paid for. I think that’s pushing the property rights thing a little bit far. Maybe I could stake a claim on Main Street, since it runs in front of my house.”
