“To all the Mitt Romney supporters: I bring you bad news/good news. Bad news, we’ve lost the election. Good news: Not to worry. Next month on the 21st, according to the Mayans, the world ends.”
— Hagerstown
“Would you Republicans please call your congressmen and tell them the election’s over, President Obama won, not Mitt Romney? Now they’re talking about trying to repeal Obamacare again. It’s the law of the land. The Supreme Court ruled it the law of the land. Let it go. Please let it go. This is the 21st century. Please, I’m begging you, as an independent, let this stuff go, or you’re not going to win 2016. I won’t vote for you.”

“My husband and I and a couple of other people are interested in doing volunteer work, if some place is giving a Christmas dinner. If anybody knows of anyone, if they could put a phone number in Mail Call, and we could call and volunteer our service for Christmas Day.”
— Hagerstown
“I’d just like to say that out of all fairness, you know, we let the JFK runners run up and down the road, but not only did they disrespect us, but they disrespected our property by throwing all their trash all over our lawns. We’d just like to say, you know, they could at least clean up their mess.”
— Downsville
“I do not agree that stores should be open on Thanksgiving. People who work at those stores need to spend time with their families. And let’s remember the reason for the season. It’s not the hustle and bustle. Remember the reason for the season.”
— Hagerstown
“You know, you don’t have be an Einstein to figure out no one’s coming downtown like they used to. I mean, anybody can see — I left here yesterday evening, I live on East Washington Street, I left here and I went to (two places) for a can of pumpkin. Neither store had it. The whole downtown, I couldn’t even get a can of pumpkin. Back when we used to have — we had a grocery store downtown, we had a dollar store, we had McCrory’s, we had a drugstore. It just doesn’t make any sense. They took all that away, and now they’re asking why no one comes downtown. Well, that’s why. You took everything away.”
— Hagerstown
“I realize I don’t know the whole story of some of these cases, with employers terminating people’s employment, but I don’t feel it’s right at all for employers out there to terminate people’s employment. They need to realize that people do get sick from time to time, and people do get disabled, you know, also, in life. But that just goes to show you, though, no one’s job is actually secure in this country because employers just don’t care. They feel they can always replace you with someone else. Yeah, they don’t have any loyalty to their associates.”
— Greencastle, Pa.
“Anyone who thinks the country isn’t better off than it was four years ago, count your fliers in your paper. A couple of years ago, we were lucky if we got one. Now, it’s more like 21.”
— Washington County
“Can we have a moment of silence, please, for the Republican Party? They’ve died. They just don’t know it, and they’re too ignorant to lay down.”
