“On Sunday Oct. 21, I went on a bike ride and went over the side of the new bridge at Slackwater in Williamsport. I went down between the bridge and the rocks. A group of people stopped and they had medical experience. The man in the group pulled me back up on the bridge. Then they cleaned and bandaged the wound. They even followed us to the car to make sure we made it. I want to thank those wonderful folks and my son Wayne who was with me.”

“To those voters who want to know which parties school board candidates belong you should be ashamed. Instead of studying candidates’ views you want to blindly vote party lines. School board issues are about what is best for children’s education, not about political ideologies. School board elections are nonpartisan and they’re political affiliations are irrelevant. The Herald-Mail should not be printing this information either.”

“I was just sitting here reading in the Mail Call on Oct. 29 the comment from, I figure they’re saying their from Hagerstown, but I feel it’s one of the ones who has left the fire company and has stirred some trouble. No, it’s not the officers’ fault who has been in there all these years it’s because the officers had done a good job the ones that are there. If these young men cannot step up and admit that they’re in the fault instead of the officers. Now here we are we have a bad storm coming and our company is closed down. Now I think enough is enough. County Commissioners and the task force open that fire company back up before something drastic happens.”

“If the stadium is such a great idea, sell shares and let us buy into it. Some of us would be glad to risk a few bucks to share in the profits that we keep hearing about.”

“We would like to thank the Funkstown fire department for its quick response to our Halloween on Hunters Woods Drive. They were so kind to the accident family and the whole block of families. Potomac Edison was right there and they were our heroes, also saved our electricity. Thank you from Hunters Woods in Hagerstown at South Pointe and P.S.: Love the eggroll lady for feeding them all.”

“Everytime I see any nonsense and yes I think it’s nonsense about this multiuse stadium complex. I can’t help but think about the people in the area  who have had to foreclose on their homes and all the children in our school system ... that are living below the poverty level. Nobody seems to want to talk about all that. I’ve brought it up at several meetings with local government and these people who are in local government they don’t care. ... John F. Kennedy once said “If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.”

“I doubt if you will print this. But if the people want say in spending their tax money, they should get a VFW magazine dated August 2012 and read pages 26 to 28. Delano Roosevelt said it best.”

“In regard to the Mail Call on Nov. 2  about The Herald-Mail and the push for Bruchey and the stadium in that location. There are a lot of us wondering if the motive is your property will be bought. The citizens cannot afford another shady property deal and you cannot afford to lose more subscribers.”

“To the person who wrote the anonymous letters to Wayne Ridenour and they wanted him off of BOE. I wouldn’t take this letter as it was meant. Seriously no, I don’t think so. The person that wrote that is a coward. They can’t even sign their own name. Just like the money from the stadium. I want to see it in writing, signed, sealed and delivered before we have a stadium. If they can’t do that, what are they hiding.”
