“On Sunday Oct. 21, I went on a bike ride and went over the side of the new bridge at Slackwater in Williamsport. I went down between the bridge and the rocks. A group of people stopped and they had medical experience. The man in the group pulled me back up on the bridge. Then they cleaned and bandaged the wound. They even followed us to the car to make sure we made it. I want to thank those wonderful folks and my son Wayne who was with me.”

“I was just sitting here reading in the Mail Call on Oct. 29 the comment from, I figure they’re saying their from Hagerstown, but I feel it’s one of the ones who has left the fire company and has stirred some trouble. No, it’s not the officers’ fault who has been in there all these years it’s because the officers had done a good job the ones that are there. If these young men cannot step up and admit that they’re in the fault instead of the officers. Now here we are we have a bad storm coming and our company is closed down. Now I think enough is enough. County Commissioners and the task force open that fire company back up before something drastic happens.”

I can’t help but think about the people in the area who have had to foreclose on their homes and all the children in our school system ... that are living below the poverty level. Nobody seems to want to talk about all that. I’ve brought it up at several meetings with local government and these people who are in local government they don’t care. ... John F. Kennedy once said “If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.”
