Aletris Neils, left, a University of Florida graduate student, and Natalia Borrego, a volunteer with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, examine one of two black bear cubs. Researchers with Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission go into woods in Lake County to check on cubs. The animals, which were briefly removed from their den, were measured, weighed, had their age estimated by hair and ear length and had a microchip implanted in them.
