Jan. 18: 'The Last Stand'

A drug kingpin escapes custody and heads for the border; only a sheriff (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and his ragtag crew of subordinates can stop him. Yee-haw.
What's new: Schwarzenegger hasn't starred in a non-"Expendables" movie since 2003's "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines," and, appearing as a small-town cop assisting the sheriff, Evanston's Zach Gilford ("Friday Night Lights") scores a welcome high profile gig to counteract several failed TV shows ("Off the Map," "The Mob Doctor").
What's not: This looks like any old Schwarzengger/Nicolas Cage/whomever vehicle, though that does not mean it may not be fun (especially considering the screenplay had a spot on the Black List, which collects the industry's hottest unproduced scripts).
