Former Minnesota-Duluth All-American running back Isaac Odim has been released by the San Diego Chargers.
Odim announced on his Twitter account Saturday morning that he was let go by the San Diego Chargers in the final round of roster cuts before the start of the regular season.
Well, I didn't make the final cut. Heading back to MN now. Hopefully I'll get picked up by another team, but we'll see, Odim tweeted Saturday.
NFL teams were required to pare down their rosters to 53 players by Saturday night. Going into Saturday, the Chargers were carrying 80 players on their roster. Odim now will wait to see if he'll be signed by another team, perhaps for a position on a practice squad.

Fourth hole-in-one for Aberdeen man on No. 17
Hole number 17 at Moccasin Creek Country Club has been very kind to Warren Schumacher through the years and Sunday, it gifted him yet again.
Schumacher used one swing of his seven iron on the hole, which plays 177 yards for his sixth career hole-in-one. This was the fourth time Schumacher has aced this particular hole. Witnessing the shot were Ryan Hardy, Landen Hardy and Randy Grote. Schumacher, who has golfed for about 30 years, did not see the ball go in.
The hole is cut behind the sand trap so we couldn't see it, said Schumacher. It was kind of funny. I said to Ryan, 'It's in the hole.' We looked and it was in the hole.
Schumacher, who finished with a round of 77, joked that Moccasin may have to make some changes in the future.
Seventeen is just too easy, he said. They'll have to put in a new tee box for me.
