1987 -- Steve Fejfar scored the winning run on a balk in the first game and Northern State pounded out nine hits in the second game as the Wolves swept a college baseball doubleheader from Jamestown, N.D. Northern won the opener 3-2 and took the nightcap 10-2.
1992 -- Shaquille O'Neal, LSU's 7-foot-1, 294-pound center, has announced he will skip his senior year of college to enter the National Basketball Association draft.
1997 -- Rod Strickland, playing with a sprained left ankle, scored 26 points, handed out 14 assists and led a fourth-quarter charge that carried the Washington Bullets to a 110-102 National Basketball Association victory over the Chicago Bulls.
2002 -- Tim Duncan poured in 30 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and handed out nine assists to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 90-88 National Basketball Association victory over the Seattle SuperSonics.
2007 -- Jason Bartlett's broken-bat single scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning, lifting the Minnesota Twins to a 3-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
2011 -- Lucas Jung allowed two runs on seven hits and Jose Figueroa slapped a two-run double to spark a Northern rally as the Wolves went on to beat Wayne State 7-2 in the first game of a doubleheader, giving NSU coach Dean Berry his 100th career victory. Wayne took the second game, 14-4.
