1987 Troy Van Orman fired a one-hitter and Travis Sitter followed with a three-hitter as the Aberdeen Teeners won the championship of the Mitchell Invitational Tournament. Aberdeen defeated Sioux Falls Norwest Bank 4-0 in the opener and stopped Mitchell 9-1 in the title game.
1992 -- Bill Richter drove in a pair of runs with a sixth-inning single and Claremont held on for a 7-6 amateur baseball victory over Clear Lake.
1997 -- Jamie Arneson pitched a no-hitter as the Aberdeen Smittys topped Warner 11-1 on the first day of the Smittys Classic at Fossum Field. Ryan Albrecht, Jered Holland and Doug Savey each had a pair of RBIs for the Smittys.
2002 -- Chris Geditz led off the ninth inning with a double and later scored on an error to lift Ipswich to a 7-6 amateur baseball victory over the Groton Indians. Trent Osborne and Scott Heyne had two hits apiece for Ipswich in the win.
2007 -- Sam Heintzman's RBI single pushed across the winning run as the Aberdeen Smittys edged Brookings 5-4 in the second game of an American Legion baseball doubleheader. James Torigian pitched a five-hitter as Aberdeen won the first game 6-0.
2011 -- Atlanta pitcher Tim Hudson was a force both at the plate and on the mound, hitting a two-run home run plus pitching two-hit ball over eight innings with eight strikeouts to lead the Braves to a 2-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.
