1987 -- Don Mattingly of the New York Yankees broke an American League record by hitting a home run in his seventh consecutive game. The AL record of six games was held by several players, most recently Reggie Jackson. Dale Long of the Pittsburgh Pirates set the major league record with homers in eight straight games in 1956.

1992 -- Dave Wolf had three hits, Chad Bartz ripped a triple and Curt Fredrickson had a home run as Circus-Wendy's-Busch rolled to a 10-0 amateur baseball victory over Selby.

1997 -- Rich Osborn's two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Redfield Dairy Queen to an 8-7 victory over Wendy's-Busch-Lager's in the first game of an amateur baseball doubleheader. Osborn homered in the second game too, helping Redfield win 9-7 to complete the sweep.

2002 -- David Ortiz and Dustan Mohr hit two-run home runs and Luis Rivas added a solo shot to lead the Minnesota Twins to an 8-5 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

2007 -- The Aberdeen Smittys swept an American Legion baseball doubleheader from Watertown, winning by scores of 12-1 and 16-3. Eric Cantwell had three hits and three RBIs in a five-inning first game, and Jordan Foster knocked in five runs in the second game as the Smittys improved to 26-8 on the season.

2011 -- Jim Thome cracked the 596th home run of his career, a tie-breaking three-run blast in the sixth inning, as the Minnesota Twins held on for a 4-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals.
