Faulkton overcame a scoreless first quarter to claim a 49-27 non-conference boys’ basketball win over Highmore-Harrold Tuesday night.

 The hosts, who trailed just 3-0 after the first period, took the lead with a 15-point second quarter and then made 11 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter to ice the victory.

 Jake Schlechter scored 15 points, including nine in the final period. Kurt Beidler contributed 10, Zach Price followed with nine and Mike Craker finished with eight points, 12 rebounds and six blocked shots.

 Cole Oakley tossed in eight points to lead a balanced Highmore-Harrold attack. Hayden Houdek had seven, and Hadley Hamlin and Jordan Houdek each scored six.
