Last meeting: 2003 — North Hagerstown, 33-12.

Last week: The Sentinels beat MATHS, 70-6. ... The Hubs beat Oakdale, 22-19.

Notes: The last meeting between the schools was in the Class 2A West semifinals in 2003. The Sentinels won the previous 13 meetings (from 1984 to 1996) in the series. ... The Sentinels led MATHS (Maryland Academy of Technology and Health Sciences of Baltimore) 63-6 at halftime. They gained 525 yards, including 444 on the ground. ... Alex Barnes had 176 yards and two touchdowns on just seven first-half carries. ... Fort Hill intercepted five passes. ... Kyle Hewlett ran for a 6-yard touchdown with 37 seconds left in the game to give the Hubs the victory over Oakdale. Hewlett led the Hubs with 77 yards rushing and Isaiah Keyes had 61 yards on 23 carries. ... Preston Carey intercepted an Oakdale pass in the end zone with just seconds remaining to preserve the victory. ... The Hubs picked off three Oakdale passes and Matt Ritter had 2 1/2 quarterback sacks.

South Hagerstown Rebels (3-0) at Thomas Johnson Patriots (2-1)

Series: Thomas Johnson leads, 14-7-1.

Last meeting: 2011 — Thomas Johnson, 35-7.

Last week: The Rebels beat Boonsboro, 32-13. ... The Patriots beat Tuscarora, 48-14.

Notes: Last year’s game was the first in the series since 1986. ... The Patriots have won six of the last seven meetings. The Rebels’ last win over TJ was in 1986. ... The Rebels are off to their first 3-0 start since 1990. It’s just the seventh time in the 56-year history of the program that South has opened a season with three straight wins. ... Isiaha Smith carried 32 times for 186 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Boonsboro. ... Brandon Jackson added 170 yards rushing. He ran for one touchdown and threw for another. ... South gained 396 yards against Boonsboro and allowed 205. ... The Rebels were penalized 16 times for 139 yards last week; TJ was flagged 12 times for more than 100 yards. ... Richy Anderson had 122 total yards and three touchdowns for TJ in last week’s win over Tuscarora.
