BERLIN, Md. — Heading into Wednesday’s late game against Bethesda, the Federal 9-10 all-star team had a 2-1 record in the Maryland State Tournament.
After an opening-game 10-9 loss in extra innings to South Maryland, Fredeal bounced back with a 14-1 win over Capital Hill.
Federal sent 15 batters to the plate in an 11-run second inning, capped by Brayden Quirple’s home run in a game that lasted only four innings.
Federal became on the final four teams in a second game Tuesday with a 6-4 victory over West Salisbury.
Michael Keats gave Federal a 2-0 lead with a two-run single. Dylan Watson, Garrett Kercheval, Braden Kolb and Toddie Socks also had RBIs.
Quirple allowed only four hits in four innings and Kercheval picked up the save with two innings of relief.
