South Hagerstown senior Jaid Sandeen won a title in the Class 3A girls pole vault Friday at the Maryland State Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Morgan State University.Sandeen equaled her personal best in the event with her winning jump of 10 feet, 6 inches. Erin Parker of Damascus was the runner-up at 9-6.
Classes 1A and 2A started their championhips Thursday, classes 3A and 4A began theirs Friday and the meet concludes with all four classes today.
Sandeen also placed sixth in the triple jump at 35-2.
For the South boys, Isiah Smith, Reggie Moody, Chip Rittenhouse and Jordan Alston tied for eighth in the 4x200-meter relay in 1 minute, 32.04 seconds. Moody also finished 10th in the long jump (19-11).
The South girls were disqualified in the 4x200. They were seeded fourth in the event.
