MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Mercersburg Academy’s top four players scored victories to lead the Blue Storm to a victory over Episcopal (Va.).

Ana Kelly, Nikki Rhyne, Sarah Allen — the Blue Storm’s top three — and No. 6 Nina McIntosh and No. 7 Sarah Wilson all won their matches 3-0. No. 4 Caroline Metz scored a 3-1 victory for Mercersburg (7-5).

Boys

Jefferson 58, Goretti 40


Keegan Simmons won the 200-yard freestyle and the 200 IM to lead Jefferson (11-2-1) over St. Maria Goretti in a dual meet at the Hagerstown YMCA.

Michael Brower won the 100 butterfly for Goretti.

Girls

Jefferson 57, Goretti 41


Luisa Holland  and Marie deBuchananne each won two events to lead Jefferson (13-1) to a dual meet victory over St. Maria Goretti at the Hagerstown YMCA.

Holland won the 200-yard freestyle and the 100 breaststroke, while deBuchananne won the 50 and 100 freestyle races.

Cassidy Lippert won 100 butterfly for Goretti.



MEN’S BASKETBALL

West Liberty 126, Shepherd 97

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Chad Moore had 28 points and 10 rebounds for Shepherd (8-12, 5-10) in the Rams’ WVIAC loss to West Liberty (19-0, 15-0), the No. 1-ranked team in NCAA Division II.
