The Williamsport fourth- and fifth-grade girls basketball team won the 2011 Wolfsville Travel League championship on March 6, beating Smithsburg 16-9 in the semifinals and Brunswick 20-13 in the championship game. BASEBALL
The Hagerstown Suns announced Thursday that WJEJ 1240 AM will broadcast all Suns home games this season on air and online at www.wjejradio.com.
Bryan Holland, the Suns’ director of communications and broadcasting, will return for his second season behind the microphone.
WJEJ will broadcast a pre-game and post-game show for every Suns home game to compliment the live play-by-play. In addition, a member of the Suns front office will be featured in the “Suns Farm Report” every Thursday morning during the season at 8:30.
Plans to include WJEJ coverage of Suns road games have not yet been finalized.

Bulldogs’ Gladden signs with Shepherd
Martinsburg senior David Gladden signed to play for Shepherd University beginning this fall — one of 12 athletes whose signings the Rams announced Wednesday night.
Gladden, a versatile athlete who played running back and defensive back as well as running back kicks, also lettered in track and field at Martinsburg. He earned West Virginia All-State first-team honors as he helped lead the Bulldogs to the Class AAA state title last fall.

Slow-pitch softball tourney
A men’s slow-pitch softball tournament will be held April 2 at the Cumberland, Md., Riverside Complex. Entry fee is $200, with $1,000 going to the winners. USSSA rules will be enforced. Teams will hit their own .44-core ball. For more information, call 814-285-0713.
