Nyswaner scores ace

Tom Nyswaner of Middletown, Md., carded a hole-in-one Wednesday during the MHS Soccer Alumni Tournament at Black Rock Golf Course.

Nyswaner, who has been playing golf for 30 years, used a 9-iron to score his ace on No. 2, a par-3, 118-yard hole.

Ron Engle, Kyle Pritts and Chuck Gray were members of the foursome who witnessed the shot.

Orioles to attend softball dinner

Slugger Luke Scott and pitcher Brad Bergesen of the Baltmore Orioles, along with former Oriole Scott McGregor, will be the featured guests at the Hagerstown Church Softball League’s annual sports dinner June 9 at Tri-State Fellowship in Hagerstown. The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased from any of the league’s coaches or at the Hagerstown Fairgrounds concession stand on weeknights or at Kamelot Florist.
