YOUTH BASEBALL
BOONSBORO — Cody Reeder had three hits and an RBI as Maugansville beat South Mountain 12-9 in the opening round of the Maryland District 1 Junior Tournament on Wednesday.
Nathan Patey had three hits and Eric Medina added two for Maugansville, which will play at Valley in the winners’ bracket final on Friday.
Devan Nalley had three hits for South Mountain, which plays an elimination game at Conococheague on Friday.
District 1 9-10 Tournament
Federal 18, National 17
Federal rallied from a large early deficit and held off a late rally to beat National in the losers’ bracket of the District 1 9-10 Tournament.
No other information was available on the game. Federal will play host to Sharpsburg today at 6 p.m. in another elimination game, with the winner advancing to face Conococheague in the losers’ bracket final on Friday.
