BOYS BASKETBALL

Mo Sallah had 22 points, 21 rebounds and five blocks to lead Broadfording Christian Academy to a 66-52 victory over visiting Hancock on Tuesday.

Derek Durst scored 17 points and Ben Cradduck added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Lions (18-14). Cisco Silva contributed 10 rebounds and 12 assists.

Donnie O’Brien had 17 points for Hancock (6-14), while Devon Mitchell had 14 points and Garrett Wiles added 11.

WASHINGTON — Nnamdi Enechionyia posted a double-double with 23 points — including three 3-pointers — and 14 rebounds for Saint James in a Mid-Atlantic Conference loss to Maret School (12-10, 8-3).

Fred Slater had eight points, including two 3-pointers, Avery Wilmore had eight points and Obi Enechionyia had 10 rebounds for the Saints (12-9, 5-5).

Maret hit 10 3-pointers in the victory.

Hollenshead added three rebounds, six assists and three steals, Taelor Morton had 12 points and five rebounds and Jenna Hollenshead had six points and nine rebounds for the Indians (20-1, 13-0).

Gordon also had team highs in rebounds (11), assists (three) and steals (three), while Rebecca Truax added 12 points and nine rebounds for Fulton County (9-7).

On Friday, Gordon scored a game-high 19 points to lead Fulton County to a 41-21 victory over Emmanuel Christian School.

HCC’s Horning honored

BEL AIR, Md. — Hagerstown Community College’s Brandon Horning was honored as one of three January Student-Athletes of the Month by the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference.

Horning qualified for the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships after running a 2:37.53 to win the 1,000-meter run at the Hagerstown Invitational. The championships will be held at Eastern Illinois on March 2-3.

n Horning will be joined at nationals by teammate Mike Salguero, who also qualified in the 1,000, running 2:36.58 at the Bucknell Winter Classic last weekend.

Rams’ Starlings honored

PRINCETON, W.Va. — Shepherd sophomore Al Starlings was named WVIAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for his standout play for the Rams last week.

Starlings notched a 6-0, 6-0 singles win over Shenandoah on Saturday and also contributed to an 8-0 doubles victory, helping the Rams improve to 5-2.

Runners’ seminar Saturday in Chambersburg

The Chambersburg Road Runners Club’s second annual seminar — “The Runner’s Seminar II: Feel the Fire!” — will be held Saturday at Chambersburg Area Middle School from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The seminar will feature such standout runners as Jim Hage, who has won both the JFK 50 Mile and Marine Corps Marathon, and Olympic hopeful Neely Spence.
