Heine earns honor
PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Penn State Altoona senior first baseman Cord Heine, a Mercersburg Academy graduate, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week on Monday.
Heine hit .600 (9-for-15) and had at least one RBI in each of the four games. He had seven RBIs and scored seven runs to help the Lions go 3-1 across doubleheaders with Juniata College and Pitt-Bradford.
Heine is hitting .406, good for third in the AMCC.
