BOYS LACROSSE
Graham Horst had three goals and an assist for St. Maria Goretti in the Gaels’ 10-6 victory over Shenandoah South Lacrosse Club on Thursday.
Patrick McDermott had three goals, Mike Ewing had two goals and two assists, Clarence Wroblewski had a goal and 14 ground balls, Dylan Bradley had a goal and Mike Fairley had seven saves for the Gaels (7-8).

Ferguson helped her own cause with two hits, including a two-run blast in the sixth, Kinsey Shifflett and Brooke Parks had three hits and two RBIs each, Shayla Murray had three hits and Kayla Huntzberry had two hits for the Leopards (13-1, 9-1).

Warriors at Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA — A pair of Boonsboro girls relay teams competed Thursday at the Penn Relays.
In the 4x100, Lashanta Tonsil, Courtney Rose, Amber Smith and Abby Duncan finished 52nd out of more than 300 teams with a time of 51.0.
In the 4x400, Ella Hawkins, Leah Cadigan, Emily Cronise and Duncan finished 13th in their heat in 4:22.01. Their overall place was not available.
Tri-State Invitational
HANCOCK — The Berkeley Springs girls and Southern Fulton boys won the team titles at the Tri-State Invitational on Wednesday.
The Berkeley Springs girls won the 4x100 (53.92), 4x200 (1:54.12) and got individual wins from Harlie Stotler in the shot put (35-4 1/2) and discus (104-7 1/4), Danielle Haynes in the 800 (2:32.53), Jordan Bennett in the long jump (15-7) and Casey Solomon in the high jump (5-0).
The Southern Fulton boys won the 4x800 (8:43.40) and got an individual win from Jacob Ashkettle in the long jump (19-7).
The Berkeley Springs boys got wins from Corey Shetler in the 1,600 (4:46.31), Matt Arrowood in the pole vault (12-6) and their 4x100 relay team (45.90).
McConnellsburg got wins from Merissa Grey in the girls 100 hurdles (17.45), Corey Hill in the boys 110 hurdles (16.95) and 300 hurdles (42.96) and Ryan Stoeckle in the boys shot put (46-11) and discus (137-7).
Host Hancock got a second-place finish from Liam Faith in the boys triple jump (40-1) and third-place finishes from Aaron Wagner in the boys pole vault (10-6), Ally Childers in the girls 300 hurdles (51.37) and their girls 4x100 relay team.
Clear Spring had its best finish in the girls 4x200, placing third in 2:02.59.

Beard earns weekly honor
FOREST, Va. — Randolph-Macon junior Kelly Beard, a Williamsport graduate, was recently named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s Pitcher of the Week for her performance in an 8-1 victory over Southern Virginia.
Beard pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run while striking out five. She improved her pitching record to 7-3 while lowering her ERA to 1.72 as Randolph-Macon improved to 27-9, its best record in program history.
