Roy Deese Jr., of Laurel, Md., scored a victory at Hagerstown Speedway for the first time in nearly two years Saturday, winning the Buchanan Auto Sales Late Model Championship Series race.

Deese started third and was into second on the opening lap, chasing pole sitter Ashley Barrett until finally making the bottom work, slipping past him for the final five laps to get the win by .586 seconds, his first Aug. 14, 2010.

Chris Ebersole of Big Cove Tannery, Pa., stretched his lead to 3.153 seconds in the closing laps of the 17th annual Cornett Tribute for the Ernie D’s pure stocks to post his second career win, while William Crook, of Knoxville, Md., got his first win in the D&D Auto Recycling hobby stocks.
